Originally a 17th Century Manor House, El Jardin Vertical was built from the distinctive red “ródeno”
rock of the region. Adorned with lush greenery covering its high walls, this enchanting hotel stands tall
in the exceptional landscape and has an alluring medieval appeal.
As they once did for the impassioned artists of Vilafamés, the stunning views will inspire anyone who
gazes out from its balconies. Indeed, as the sun sets over the wild plains, filled with almond, holm oak
and thousand year old olive trees, the great Penyagolosa rises up like an ancient god, claiming his
dominion over nature. Inside the hotel’s ancient walls, there is a surprising and refreshing contrast
between the corners and features steeped in history and the beauty of the contemporary décor; all
bathed in an ambiance of calm.
Built over five floors, el Jardín Vertical has been completely restored and refurbished to the highest of
standards. Its original walls and structure have been lovingly preserved, together with interesting
architectural features, such as lintels, bays and balconies and exquisite floor tiling crafted by hand from
river stone. There are nine spacious rooms, together with two reception rooms in which to relax, study
or work and a stunning terrace from where to take in the splendid views. There is also a charming,
atmospheric dining room, with a lush terrace to dine al fresco should you wish. There is also free WiFi
throughout the hotel.
